Cast Update For "FRIDAY THE 13TH"

Dread Central has just learned that Nick Mennell has just been cast in Platinum Dunes remake of "FRIDAY THE 13TH". You will probably remember Mennell from his role in the "HALLOWEEN" remake as Bob "I wanna do it with the mask on" Simms. Word is that he will be flying down to Austin, TX this Friday to begin filming.

On the other side of the interweb B-D has discovered from a reader that the extremely sexy Willa Ford has landed a role in the film as well. Of course neither is sure what role they have but my guess would be more fodder for Jason.

They will be joining Derek Mears, Jared Padalecki and Amanda Righetti. The release date on this one is still solid and I don't think this one will budge from its Friday the 13th release in February, 2009.

Danielle Panabaker has been also cast as the female lead says The Hollywood Reporter.

Panabaker is playing the adventurous, athletic girlfriend of van Winkle, who plays a rich alpha male type that gathers everyone together.

Yoo's character, named Chumbler, is a guy who's a little quirky and has a tendency to wear his attraction to pretty girls on his sleeve. Sadowski plays a techie who knows the horrific history of Camp Crystal Lake.
