"THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW" remake

According to the industry website TrackingB.com, Josh Stolberg & Pete Goldfinger, the original writers of the upcoming "PIRANHA" remake, have penned a redux of the 1983 slasher pic "THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW". While no specifics of the new script are available as of yet, the original, written and directed by Mark Rosman, centered on a group of sorority girls who become involved in a battle with their house's owner, who wants them evicted. When a revenge prank goes awry, killing the landlord, the girls hide the body in an effort to conceal the crime. But someone who knows what happened decides to take their own vengeance, and begins stalking and killing the girls one by one.

No director or cast appears to be attached to the new "HOUSE" just yet; however, given the boffo opening of Screen Gems' "PROM NIGHT" remake, it's a sure bet this similarly themed project will hit the fast track. The new "PIRANHA", meanwhile, was rewritten by its director Alexandre Aja and is slated for release (in 3-D) July 24, 2009.
