Stephen Norrington to Reinvent "THE CROW"
Stephen Norrington has signed on to write and direct a reinvention of "THE CROW", based on the comic created by James O'Barr, says Variety.Ryan Kavanaugh's Relativity Media is negotiating with producer Ed Pressman to acquire the film franchise and finance the film.
Pressman produced the 1994 Alex Proyas-directed adaptation, in which rock musician Eric Draven (Brandon Lee) is murdered trying to rescue his girlfriend from thugs, and returns from the dead one year later to exact vengeance.
For Norrington, "THE CROW" deal marks the end of a long screen sabbatical. After making his breakthrough with Blade, Norrington took on a big-budget comic transfer with The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Neither the director nor his star, Sean Connery, has made a feature film since.
"Whereas Proyas' original was gloriously gothic and stylized, the new movie will be realistic, hard-edged and mysterious, almost documentary-style," Norrington said.

This is awesome! The Crow is my most favorite movie, series, and character ever! I was just talking to someone yesterday, telling her, I wish someone would bring The Crow back. She agreed with me fully! We and our husbands collect Crow memorabilia. Couple of questions though. Who will play the lead?(He'd have to bear a strong resemblance to Brandon, or Mark from the" Stairway To Heaven" series.) and when will it be out? I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!
Let stephen norrington do the film!! i like the crow movies and am excited to see another one in the making even though brandon lee will forever always be the best eric draven possible. So his last movie was a complete pile of shit, it would be interesting to see him or sean connnery make a come back..

I don't care how talented Norrington is. this copy cat attempt could never compare to the one and only original....
