.: STORY
When going for a walk, a mysterious lady follows a young woman. Then, strange events happen which will lead the young woman to a certain death..: REVIEW
Here's a short that Misty shot for her cinema studies. It's a film in black and white shot image by image which gives a very retro aspect and reminds of the silent era movies. Moreover, it is emphasized by the non-insertion of dialogues. The soundtrack is in fact an original score by Tim McBride that suits perfectly to the retro and unhealthy aspects of the short.
However, the lack of dialogues makes the whole thing a bit rough; what is shown doesn't allow understanding fully the details of the story.
Everything is conveyed through the eyes of the two actresses who play their parts perfectly, letting all the feelings out.
The short movie plays on the theatrical / hollywoodian side of voodoo with the doll in which bad intentioned people put needles. It also plays on the blur between reality and dream; the viewer isn't really able to make the difference between them.
