REVIEW

When we talk about serial killers, the names that first came about are Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, Ed Gein, Edmund Kemper, Richard Ramirez or even Jack the Ripper. What about Henry Howard Holmes? Why hasn't the first US serial killer, in spite of his sulphurous pas, gotten into history? Why are there so many movies about serial killers and none about H.H. Holmes?

Now it's done with this movie / documentary by John Borowski who signs here his first long-running movie.

It's left to be seen how the Hollywoodians will adapt this story in cinema, as two movies about Holmes are in preparation, one realised by Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner, inspired by Erik Larson's book "The Devil in the White City", and the other by Leonardo Di Caprio, through his production company Appian Way, in which he would have a part...

though I have heard of him on the History channel, not a lot is known about the origins and life of H.H. Holmes compared to America's later serial killers/mass murderers. Not to say that no info exists, just not as much as the ones that followed. He turned his dr.'s office into his own ''castle'' with blind corners, trapdoors, and rooms that the victim was just dropped into to suffocate. He was caught and hung leaving 27 known and possibly 100's of victims in his wake. the one hour documentary above is the show I watched on either the History Ch or Biography Ch and the ? is why hasn't he been publiscized like serial killers that followed. A Narscisistic, sadist that perhaps was one of the worst serial killers in our history as the USA, makes one wonder why the 1st 'multi-murderer',the origin of SERIAL KILLER is clouded in more mystery than any of the US's other's. watch the 1 hr Documentary but be warned....he may be AMERICA'S MOST EVIL...........
