.: REVIEW
In the independent movie category, from good to bad, and sometimes films which would become cult! It's the case without a doubt with "CHAINSAW SALLY", the second long-running movie by Jimmyo Burril after "SILVER SCREAM" in 2003.

Sally, embodied by fantastic April Monique Burril, the director's wife, works in a library without anybody's suspecting about her nocturnal activities as a serial killer... It's through that daily schizophrenia that the movie follows the adventures of Harvey Benton, intending on buying the land where our young psychopath's house id built.

Contrarily to many independent films, the actors in "CHAINSAW SALLY" are absolutely astonishing, be it the future Scream Queen, her brother Ruby (embodied by Alec Joseph, already present in "SILVER SCREAM") looking a bit like a girl and even the secondary parts. Let's nor forget two protagonists whose fame has already been established and who play their respective parts perfectly, Gunnar “Leatherface” Hansen embodying Daddy, and Herschell Gordon Lewis as the ironmonger. All know how to play moderately without doing too much, and even little Lilly Burril, embodying Sally as a child, is doing pretty well!

Let's also underline the numerous references to old school horror movies, amongst which "TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE", from which Sally gets inspiration to massacre her victims. If the image of a killer with a chainsaw in the hand reminds inevitably the character of Leatherface, here, things are put a little further, as beyond the cameo by Gunnar Hansen, the name of the heroin curiously reminds of Sally Hardesty, one of the characters of the 1974 first episode.

However, the comparison with Tobe Hooper's movie stops here. That "CHAINSAW SALLY" looks like an homage to our dear Leatherface, but it's also a very good horror movie filled with good bloody scenes, which gives birth to a new scream queen: Sally!
