.: STORY
After getting rid of the zombies that were plaguing the city of Seville, the members of the Deadhunter, a special intervention group, are judged and found guilty of Frankie's and Charlie's death, two of their partners. The judgement is without possible change. Instead of a prison penalty, the court decides to dissolve the Deadhunter, who wouldn't let that done without telling their word about it...
.: REVIEW
"ZOMBIE XTREME", direct continuation to "DEADHUNTER SEVILLAN ZOMBIES", was, like the previous one, written, produced and directed by Julián Lara. However, if the first opus was to put in the long running movie category, the director comes back to his first love (because of the budget?) with a short of 35 minutes.

A man gets talked about by capturing dozens of zombies in the subway. Locked in an old mansion, the living dead would be used as targets in a cruel game: the Zombie Xtreme. The rules are simple, the customer who pays for his ticket (no less than $90 an hour for a person!) is given weapons and ammunitions before entering a disused warehouse infested with zombies which he would have to exterminate in order to get out alive.
In spite of the dangerousness of this new kind of (almost!) human pain-ball, the game, open to everyone except the ex-Deadhunters, is a huge success amongst the high sensation amateurs. Until the day when Juliŕn and Calamator, two ex-Deadhunters, succeed in getting inside the forbidden arena to take back their mission where it stopped...

Contrarily to the simplistic scenario of "DEADHUNTER SEVILLAN ZOMBIES", the one for "ZOMBIE XTREME" is much more ground-breaking! Still keeping the same ingredients, Juliŕn Lara offers the viewer a real moment of entertainment with this perfect gore comedy! In spite of the still very amateur side of the special effects, you'll watch a true carnage with blood and guts, punctuated with humorous scenes, like the appearance of Arlekin with his acoustic guitar (embodied by a celebrity of the Spanish TV) or the totally insane parody of the Matrix!

The idea of using the zombies in a paint-ball game stay quite original and well exploited, portraying a more and more violent society.
If you follow the wanderings of the two ex-Deadhunters, the will of getting parachuted in the Zombie Xtreme release arena is omnipresent!

With this short with a lot better rhythm than the previous one, Juliŕn Lara demonstrates his efforts as far as direction is concerned, using improved techniques, like, for example, the multi windowing with the 24.

Indeed, "ZOMBIE XTREME" will make you spend a good moment if you don't take things at face value!
