While he was traveling alone in a subway train, a man discovers that his drugs have no more effects on the haunting voice inside of him. This last, furious to have been muted for all those years, will have its revenge by pushing the man to the worst extremities....: REVIEW

A short movie of thirteen minutes shot in black and white, "THE VOICE INSIDE" was made by a young American director who signs here his first work, of which he's also the script writer and the producer.This film starts with an already glaucous scene. A man finds himself alone in a desert subway train, alone with an inside voice which wakes up from a long lethargy conditioned by drugs. The whispers of the voice transform little by little into unbearable screams : "You will listen to the voice... You will obey the voice... You will never suppress the voice again”.

The mental torture inflicted by this last becomes more and more violent when the man comes back home. And that's when, after impressive vomiting in the toilets, the voice, that completely controls the body, think about torturing him physically... Auto-mutilation sequences put the viewer ill at ease, going from hurting his head into the walls to the use of a hammer as an anal torture a bit like "THE EXORCIST" but for a man... Indeed, there's something for everyone!

Even if the protagonist (the only character!), who is embodied by Biff Juggernaut himself, doesn't excel in the part of the maniac falling into madness, we have to admit that, from a direction point of view, "THE VOICE INSIDE" leave most unhealthy and disturbing memories in the minds, thanks to shock scenes and maybe also because of its amateur and realistic sides.So when the man begins to vomit all that he drank, the dinner also begins to go its way up in the viewer, above all when we get to learn that was needed not less than 6 bowls of a disgusting mixture of oat, bananas and olive oil to accomplish that “stunt” without a stuntman or protections!

A promising small budget short movie, which, moreover, was rewarded in 2001 at the Boston Underground Film Festival and the Sick Puppy Film Festival in 2002.Lan's rating : 6 on 10
