.: STORY
Charles and Deborah Rosenblad are not your typical next-door neighbors. Despite the appearance of a loving, All-American family, they are cannibalistic monsters who take great pleasure in torturing and murdering neighbors in their basement. But like any married couple, the Rosenblads are not the picture of wedded bliss. Amidst rampages of bloodthirsty cruelty, Charles and Deborah begin to question their love for and devotion to one another, and soon these serial killers are at each other's throat...poised for gruesome revenge and prepared to take their bloodlust to new and sadistic heights.
.: REVIEW
After "AMERICAN NIGHTMARE" and "HALLOW'S END" (already review on Oh My Gore!), Jon Keeyes signs here it's third long-running movie co – written with Debbie Rochon (yes, she also writes!) and digitally shot (24bit High Definition). In the credits of this movie, between others, we can find Trent Haaga ("TERROR FIRMER", "CITIZEN TOXIE : THE TOXIC AVENGER IV", "ZOMBIEGEDDON") and Brandy Little ("HALLOW'S END", "AMERICAN NIGHTMARE").

In spite of a cover worthy of a art way Gore movie, "SUBURBAN NIGHTMARE" wants itself more profound, analysing the complex relationship between a man and his wife. Ok, the characters are not ordinary people as they practice cannibalism, torturing and slaughtering their neighbours... However, Jon Keeyes seems not to have meant to make a movie full of guts, but more to portay a couple, originally madly in love, who will end up killing each other. This rise to destruction is marvellously directed, in particulary with the alternance of sepia tints. Still visually speaking, the torture room, used by the lovers to achieve their macabre pleasures, seems almost real and the pictures on the wall give it an ultra sea – green atmosphere.

Moreover, the way the actor play match really well. Even though we had the image of Trent Haaga as an actor of the Troma ( and so with all that goes with that :)), here he plays much of a serious part and succeeds with perfection! About Brandy Little, she's also very convincing, just as much as she were in "HALLOW'S END".

Once again, the Eden Automatic from Dallas (already on the soundtrack for "AMERICAN NIGHTMARE") made the music of this long-running film, with other bands such as The NecroTonz, Colleen Bradford or The Sandblasters..., each song being well chosen and adapted to the scenes of the movie.
