Roger Neale is a photographer of a very particular kind, very sensitive about fear, and about the diverse expressions that this last can create... He decides to bring three new models in a disused asylum and which is told haunted...Quickly, Neale put his “guinea pigs” into conditions, and discovers by chance that the basement of the building is full of very elaborated torture machines. But he's far from thinking that, in the shadow, a much more sadistic spirit than his is hidden...

Brett Piper is known for having directed "NYMPHOID BARBARIAN IN DINOSAUR HELL" in the past for Troma, but above all for having made one of the worst movie of all time: "RAIDERS OF THE LIVING DEAD".)
For his first movie for Shock-O-Rama, he decides to establish a heavy atmosphere, in a glaucous place and more than unexpected situations (in particular a very original audition!) with known actresses of the firm. But we're obliged to admit that, once again, he fails to reach his goal.Presented as THE shock movie of the firm in many festivals, and with a very successful introduction, we have to admit that you very soon fall into complete boredom!

The rhythm is slow (you have to wait a bit more than 60 minutes before anything serious begins to happen...) and most inconsistent dialogues with echoes in the soap opera style and too long with fearful moments which seem to “cheap” (the ketchup replacing blood is out of fashion even for amateur movies, you should know that Brett!).That's a pity, a real pity, while the movie is presented like a cult movie of terror, as far as I am concerned, I watched a long movie, with cheap special effects. Even Misty Mundae isn't put enough into the light! Honestly and luckily for us, the second movie made for the firm raise the level: go and get "BITE ME" which is really worth being watched!
