With a such an attractive summary to some, and one with no interest for others, here's the first long-running movie by Michael Cooney, who would make another movie about snowmen, as he'd also direct "JACK FROST 2" three years later.In the cast, between perfect strangers and second part actors hardly known, we can, anyway, find Christopher Allport ("REINCARNATIONS", "LOS ANGELES FEDERAL POLICE", "THE INVASION COMES FROM MARS", "DYNASTY"...) but that's not enough to make of this movie a marvel.

The special effects aren't extraordinary, the diaologues perfectly empty, the rhythm inequal, but however, that movie is watchable and we can spend a good moment watching this non-pretentious but entertaining film. Skillfully mixing comedy and horror, we let ourselves being surprised discovering the way Jack will decimate the inhabitants of the village (the sledge scene is fantastic!).)
Indeed, you understood that "JACK FROST" isn't indispensable in your video collection, but if you get the opportunity to discover it, do not hesitate. Absolutely don't take it at face value, and it's to be watched preferably with some friends and some beers!Let's note that the director made a sequel to this movie soberly entitled "JACK FROST 2 – REVENGE OF THE MUTANT KILLER SNOWMAN" in 2000. There'll be a review soonon Oh My Gore! of course...
