Here is another batch of "CARNOPOLIS"! For a brief sum up, Carnopolis is, according to me, a more modern and more underground version of "TALES FROM THE CRYPT".

The illustration on the cover is very attended, colourful and reminds of Wes Benscoter's works. About those of the stories, they're still black and white images, very hard-worked but very different because of the presences of numerous artists. Their styles diversify between manga, 50's comics and very stylised drawing with a lot of shades.

Between the tales, we can once again admire free illustrations dealing with all the aspects of horror. Let's note that there's an homage to the dear Herbert West and Doctor Hill, from the movie that you all know(!), and that you'll appreciate for sure when reading this volume.
Let's talk about the scenarios now! They flicker between horror, suspense and eroticism with touches of violence. So, once again, there are stuffs for everyone! Let's stress that they put into images the “Eulalie” poem by the great Edgar Allan Poe. Finally, it seems important to me to precise that some stories are the continuation of some began in the first volume and some aren't.

"CARNOPOLIS" issue #2 is way better than the first version. Like good wine, it becomes better with time! You can bet that the next one will be even better than this one. In the future, "CARNOPOLIS" will surely become a reference in horror comics like, at the time,"TALES FROM THE CRYPT", "CREEPY" or "SHOCK MAG" were!
