In year 868, a wizard who practiced black magic sent a new born baby to Hell so that he becomes his protector against chevaliers and barbarians. Unfortunately, the spell fails and the baby found himself trapped in Hell... till the day demons ask for his help to eliminate the last human beings and creatures living on Earth, and so take total control of the planet. The new born, after spending nearly 9000 years in Hell, agrees to complete the mission in exchange for his freedom. Benett, that's his name, is full of rage and ready to destroy everything on his way when he comes back to like in year 10 000...

.: REVIEW

After working on several crazy projects (according to what they say) like "LE YETI", "BABY SHITTER", "GRAND MOTHER 1 & 2", "PILLY LA POULE 1 & 2", "BERNARD LE CLOCHARD" and "BUTO LE BUTEUR", the protagonist at Morku Production got involved in the shooting of something more ambitious with "BENETT".

This thirty-minute-long-short keeps a very amateur side in spite of the efforts employed by the team to offer quality special effects. Even if the make-up, made by David Scherer, are indeed well-made, the numeric images stay a bit cheap, just like a quantity of small other details like the typography of the narrative texts completely unreadable, the off voice over “testosteroned” ... and the worse is the scenario going everywhere at the same time!

Bury the baby just out of the womb of his crucified mother, and you'll find him like by – black – magic nine thousand years later wearing jeans and sneakers, with long hair and well shaved, fighting completely deformed monsters!
Fortunately, a cast of trained actors was recruited to succeed this ambitious challenge! And the award goes to Mister Mars who plays the part of "BENETT" and who hit his enemies with no ordinary conviction!
The dialogues are rare, anyway others than “rhhhhh” and “grrrrr”, and emphasize these moments of pure “gore & violence” like the caption says on the jacket, until the big finale, I would say... outstanding!

Much clumsiness which could have been avoided if "BENETT" was to be taken literally! Small incoherencies, we hope unintentional, give the film a cinematographic UFO status, a good reason for a laugh for metalheads (we strongly advise you to watch the bonus!) for a total budget1500 euros!
