"MACHETE" Begins Shooting Soon
Before Grindhouse even began the best trailer of the bunch, "MACHETE", took to the screen. With Danny Trejo and Cheech Marin both doing some absolutely kick ass scenes and delivering some cheese-tastic lines it turned out to be probably the best part of the whole experience.After the film came out rumors began that Robert Rodriguez was going to shoot a full length "MACHETE". He had stated that he had already shot about 30 minutes of footage to get that trailer. Well today Gordon and the Whale just spoke to Danny Trejo at CineVegas and he said that he had just spoken with Rodriguez. What he told him was that they were going to be shooting the film in 5 weeks!
This is certainly fantastic news and we finally know what Rodriguez is doing next. Now whether this will go to theaters is also up for debate as well. Before Robert had always said it would probably be just a straight to DVD thing.
Synopsis : Three years ago in Mexico, determined Federale Machete is betrayed and set-up by his boss, resulting in his wife and child being murdered by drug kingpin Torrez. Now, in Texas, Machete resurfaces when hired to assassinate Senator McLaughlin, an extreme advocate against illegal immigration. Once again betrayed and set-up, Machete plots his revenge against the men who've wronged him with the help of resistance fighter Luz, ICE Agent Sartana, and the shotgun-toting Padre.
