Jackson Adapts "MORTAL ENGINES" Series?
"LORD OF THE RINGS" and "THE LOVELY BONES" director Peter Jackson is secretly working on an adaptation of "MORTAL ENGINES", the award-winning first book of Philip Reeve's four-volume sci-fi novel series reports The Dominion Post.The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world where cities have become giant vehicles and must consume each other to survive. Weta Workshops believed to be working on designs for the giant mobile cities.
Asked for comment, a Jackson spokesman didn't deny the project but said "any comment should come from Peter". Jackson has apparently held the rights to the books for some time.
