I Sao Paulo E Um Terror International Film Festival

SÃO PAULO – one of the world's most populated industrial cities growing at a terrifying rate, with serious pollution problems , sprawling favellas , where extreme poverty lives side by side with disparate wealth of few .... Lack of civic public amenities and where inhabitants enjoy good weather, but depressingly have nowhere to enjoy it – ITS NOW TIME TO GIVE TERROR BACK TO SÃO PAULO

“I SÃO PAULO Ė UM TERROR”

INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF FANTASY CINEMA

28 Nov – 6 Dez.

THERE WILL BE NO PLACE TO HIDE!!

GATHERING THE MOST EXCITING AND ECLECTIC INTERNATIONAL GENRE CINEMA AROUND, FROM TRASH TO ARTHOUSE, FROM ZOMBIE TO SCIENCE FICTION – with no intellectual subtexts and with intellectual subtexts!

The Festival will present an International Competitive Section, the HORIZONTES DEL TERROR IBERICO Section, also Competitive, an INTERNATIONAL PANORAMA SECTION and a RETROSPECTIVE Section.

For the PANORAMA SECTION we are planning a focus on Catalunya, whose film production models which have established the region as a centre for genre production. “The idea, says Betina Goldman, the Festival Director, is to stimulate a whole new generation of young filmmakers which have so far, lived under the shadow of the old Master Mojica Marins, a Director who has embraced the genre , captured a huge public for over decades and remains our only horror reference, indeed our industry”.

“The continuing public fascination which the iconic Master of Horror, Mojica Marins – exerts over his public in Brazil can be seen as clear evidence of a repressed demand for genre cinema”. Mojica is Brazil's only expression and representative of a Horror industry in Brazil – we would like to certainly reach and build upon this audience, stimulating and inspiring a whole new young generation, public and filmmakers.

Among confirmed guests include Paco Plaza Director of REC, Juaquin Padro, producer of EL ORFANATO, Julian Richards Director of Summer Scars , MOJICA MARINS, Director and Master of Latino Horror, IVAN CARDOSO Director of The Seven Vampires.

“Its incredible that a metropolis with the dimensions of São Paulo, the largest city and financial centre in Latin America , with an urban profile, cosmopolitan still did not have an event dedicated to this segment” affirms Betina Goldman, Director “ I SÃO PAULO Ė UM TERROR”
