Ivan Reitman Is Helming "GHOSTBUSTERS 3"
Ivan Reitman has confirmed to MTV News that he will return to helm a third "Ghostbusters".According to Reitman, who directed the first two films in 1984 and 1989, scribes Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky have turned in a first draft of the script and are already at work on the second.
While he won't comment on what's in the script, Reitman hopes to start shooting later this year for a release in 2011.
Synopsis : Following a ghost invasion of Manhattan, paranormal enthusiasts Erin Gilbert and Abby Yates, nuclear engineer Jillian Holtzmann, and subway worker Patty Tolan band together to stop the otherworldly threat.

I don’t know why they’re bothering. I’m hoping that the Venkman ghost stuff doesn’t mean they’re killing off Venkman but nevertheless if Murray doesn’t have a significant part in the film, these people are making an expensive flop. Venkman to GB is like Spock to Star Trek. Without it’s staple, the rest of it will unravel, as will crowd interest.
