"THE MIST", a dark, eerie and tense psychological horror, portraying mankind under siege, will be released on DVD & Blu Ray on the 10th November 2008.Three-time Academy Award nominated screenwriter and director Frank Darabont (The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption) reunites with horror-master Stephen King to write and direct this chilling adaptation of the author's original short story.
After a vicious storm wreaks havoc in their small town in Maine, artist David Drayton (Thomas Jane) heads out to the town supermarket for some much-needed supplies with his young son, Billy (Nathan Gamble) and his belligerent neighbour Brent Norton (Andre Braugher). Their trip soon turns to terror when they become trapped in the supermarket, along with a large group of terrified townspeople, by a strange, otherworldly mist.
The ‘mystery' of the mist starts to take its psychological toll on the trapped shoppers, pushing people to the edge when blood thirsty creatures begin to emerge. The stresses of the unfolding horror leads the once friendly folk to fracture into two groups, those led by religious fanatic Mrs Carmody (Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden – "INTO THE WILD" and "MEET JOE BLACK"), who believe that the mist is a punishment from God, and those who think the mist has other, more sinister origins.
Drayton soon begins to realise that he may be trapped inside the store with an enemy just as dangerous as whatever may lurk outside.
Will Dave Drayton and his friends make it out alive, as they try to make a stand against this destruction? Or will they be taken by the monsters of "THE MIST" ?
