"FINAL DESTINATION 5" Has a Director

Steven Quale is staring death in the eye. He's just signed to sit in the director's chair on "FINAL DESTINATION 5".

Eric Heissere penned the script for the film which opens August 26, 2011.

Quale comes from a visual effects background having worked on "AVATAR", "TITANIC" and "TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY". So, he's a James Cameron vet.

"FINAL DESTINATION 5" will be in 3D and the opening scene is said to take place on a suspension bridge. Heissere also teased that there will be a scene involving eye surgery.

Shooting begins this September.

Synopsis : Death is just as omnipresent as ever and is unleashed after one man's premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But these unsuspecting souls were never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death's sinister agenda.
